Pies with cabbage are prepared from a variety of dough: yeast, puff or fresh. The calorie pies also depend on the type of dough. The most low-calorie ones are prepared from unleavened dough. Standard yeast cakes have almost three hundred calories and can be cooked with or without adding eggs to the dough.

For the filling of pies, white cabbage is best suited, the degree of freshness of which can be easily determined by looking at its base. Recipe 1: Pies with cabbage on a cold batch

This recipe is different in that for the preparation of these pies it is not necessary to leave the dough in a warm place. It will only be necessary to put the dough in the refrigerator and wait until it rises. And due to the fact that eggs are part of the dough, the dough retains freshness and excellent taste for a long time.

Ingredients: 500 milliliters of milk, 50 grams of yeast, 2-3 tablespoons of sugar, 250 grams of margarine or butter, 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, 700-800 grams of sifted flour, salt on the tip of a knife. For the filling you need cabbage, sugar, salt and caraway seeds.

Cooking method

Grind the yeast with sugar, and then add milk, salt and vegetable oil to them. In a separate bowl, mix the flour with margarine, grate the latter first on a coarse grater. Add flour to the yeast mixture gradually. When the mixture becomes thick, put the grated margarine there, then the rest of the flour. Put the dough on the table and knead it to a homogeneous consistency. Then sprinkle the dough with flour, wrap in a plastic bag and put in the refrigerator for about one hour.

While the dough is cooling, preparing the filling for the pies. To do this, finely chop the cabbage, salt, add sugar and caraway seeds to taste.

Cut the chilled dough into small pieces, roll into a sausage and cut into pieces, which are rolled into balls. Ready balls must be kneaded by hands into a cake, in the middle of which put 2-3 teaspoons of the filling and tightly connect the edges. To make the pies shine, grease them with egg yolk. Put pies on a baking sheet covered with parchment and bake them in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 20 minutes.

Recipe 2: Patties with Cabbage from Yeast Dough

To make these pies, you will need a dough in which no eggs are added. Despite this, the pies turn out to be lush, juicy and tasty, and they are also prepared quite quickly.

Ingredients: 1-1, 2 cups of milk or water, 600 grams of flour, 25 grams of fresh yeast, 5 tablespoons of sunflower oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of sugar, 1 medium onion, half a small head of cabbage.

Cooking method

In a glass, mix sugar, yeast, two teaspoons of flour and pour a quarter cup of warm boiled water. Leave this mixture for fifteen minutes to rise.

Sift flour in a separate container, add salt, a glass of water, butter and diluted yeast. Knead uncooked dough, which is left for one hour in a warm, dry place.

While the dough is suitable, you need to prepare the filling for the pies. Finely chop the cabbage, stew it with a small amount of water in a pan covered with a lid. Separately, fry the onions, after the excess liquid leaves the cabbage, add dumb butter and the whole onion. Put out a few more minutes, add salt to taste.

Divide the dough into 18-20 balls, from each make a small cake, which is filled with filling. Put the prepared pies on a baking sheet, grease with a beaten egg and let stand for about half an hour. Then the pies must be sent to a hot oven, preheated to 180 degrees, and bake for 15 minutes.

Recipe 3: Pies with Cabbage and Egg

These delicious and tender cakes can be prepared at any time. To create them will require only an hour and a half and a minimum number of products.

Ingredients: 2 cups of warm milk, 1 tablespoon of dried yeast, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 egg, 2 tablespoons of soft butter, 1 teaspoon of salt, 5-6 glasses of flour. For the filling, you need half the average head of cabbage, 1 tablespoon of butter, 6 hard-boiled eggs, pepper and salt to taste.

Cooking method

Mix half a glass of milk, yeast and sugar, put this mixture for ten minutes in a warm place. Pour the rest of the milk into the pan, add the egg, melted butter and one glass of flour. Add milk mixed with yeast to the same pan. Gradually add flour until the dough becomes elastic and stops sticking to your hands. Cover the pan and put in a warm place for one hour.

Put butter in a preheated pan, add cabbage and fry until it goes limp. Then put eggs, pepper and salt to taste. Continue to simmer the mixture until the cabbage is completely soft.

Put the dough on a floured surface and form a sausage, the thickness of which will be about five centimeters. Cut it into pieces from which to form small balls. Next, you need to flatten the finished balls with your hand to make circles with a diameter of about 12 centimeters. Put a filling in the middle of each circle and fasten it tightly.

On a baking sheet covered with foil, put the pies, grease them with yolk and let it infuse a little. Bake pies in a preheated oven to 200 degrees, for 20 minutes.

Cabbage pies - tips from experienced chefs

The dough for baked pies will be more crumbly if you add a little citric acid and baking soda to it. When baking pies, do not slam the oven door, this can lead to their subsidence. To keep the pies as lush and airy as possible, it is better to store them on a ceramic dish and cover them with a linen napkin.
